Hassan A. Karimi is a Professor and the Director of the Geoinformatics Laboratory in the School of Computing and Information at the University of Pittsburgh. The thrust of his research is focused on developing new algorithms and analytics in geoinformatics, especially for mobile computing applications and location-based services. In his research, he seeks to exploit the rich interdependence between the theory and practice.
